IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zachary Lamon
Cassingham
August 25, 1987 – September 20, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that 20 September 2025 we said goodbye to our Zachary (Zach) Lamon Cassingham. Zach was born 25 August 1987 to Greg L. Cassingham and Nancy Astel.
Zachary grew up in Orem and was big brother to Tylor Cassingham. He enjoyed backpacking and camping with his dad and brother. He was an important part of a wonderful blended Spencer family. He loved the mixed up family reunions held each Father's Day weekend in Payson Canyon at the Cockleburr Cabin where he rode horses, paddled on Payson Lake, helped cook breakfast for all the dad's and night games with his many cousins. Christmas parties at Grandpa Lamon & Grandma Judy's house that always had a surprise visit from Santa Claus. Sleepovers with cousins and always there was laughter and love. Zachary was always a little comedian. He enjoyed making those around laugh and smile.
This year on his birthday, Zachary was able to check off of his bucket list his desire to skydive. Never did he have a bigger smile than he wore that day. It was wonderful to see him so happy.
Zachary's story was one of addiction, struggle, resilience and love. Marked by his lengthy battle with health issues. Despite these challenges he faced them head on and left a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him as is evident in the outpouring of love and support that his family has received.
Although Zachary has left us far too soon we find comfort in knowing he is once again being hugged by family that greeted him with open arms. We are left here with many memories that we know he carried with him.
Zachary is survived by his dad, Greg Cassingham, brother Tylor and Courtney Cassingham. Neices; Temperance and Makaia. Many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Grandmother's JoAnn Cassingham, Judy Spencer. Special friends Tracy Haynes (his Street Mom as he called her), Heather Craine, Mike Smith, and his fur baby "Pepper" the kitty. Also by the "love of his life" that he had previously shared his life with for several years, Heather Salt.
Preceded in death by his Mother, Nancy Astel Valario, Grandmother Helen Walters, Grandfather's Lamon Spencer, Bill Cassingham. Grandparents Evan and Belva Astel.
The family wishes to thank those that have reached out with support and encouragement to Greg and our family at this difficult time.
There will be a family gathering on October 3rd at Walker Mortuary 85 E. 300 S. Provo. Followed by a memorial at Memorial Park 500 W. Center St. Provo. We would love to hear the stories and share memories of Zachary.
