Randall Bert Bates Randall Bert Bates. died on June 27, 2025 at home in Orem, Utah,. He was 72 years old. Randall was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on December 25, 1952 to Robert Earl Bates and Helen Rose Emmons Bates. His parents, Robert Earl Bates and Helen Rose Emmons Massouris Bates and two brothers James F. Massouris and Earl K. Bates and 1 sister Salley Massouris preceed him in death. His Ex-Wife, Laurie Bates of Nephi, Utah survives Randall. Also, surviving are two daughters, Chelsea Anderson (Brent) of Spanish Fork, Utah and Kate Bates of Payson, Utah. Granddaughter's surviving are Sydney Anderson and Kloey Anderson. One brother survives Randall, Arbia P. Massouris (Sharon)of Anaheim California. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved reading about the history of the church; it was one of his favorites past times. He also loved reading autobiographies and the history of wars which made him the perfect person to help with history projects and papers. Randall, being an avid reader, made it so no one in the family like playing trivial pursuit with him, because he would always win. A couple of reasons why we loved him so much- his zest for life, and his fun storytelling; Randall was a wonderful, caring father and poppy. Randall will be laid to rest at Spanish Fork Cemetery, Spanish Fork Utah.
