Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beautiful mom, grandma, and friend, Jana Dawn Busnell van Bree, who passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 59 at her home in Sandy Utah. Jana was born on September 7,1966, and grew up in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by family, friends, animals, and a lot of love.

Jana was reunited with her soulmate, Stretch van Bree, her beloved daughter Tanya Jo Perry, and her adoring parents George and Marilyn Bushnell. She leaves behind her loving daughters Jenna (Tyler) Thompson, and Jessica van Bree along with her seven amazing grandchildren – Christopher, Jayci, Shayli, Alyvia, Bryli, Lukas, and Charlotte – who were the light of her life. Her siblings Nancy Ericksen, Paula Rivera, and Stephen Bushnell who she cherished her entire life.

Jana and Stretch found each other when Jana was just 18 years old, from that moment on they built a life filled with love, laughter, and country music. Jana had the biggest heart- especially for her family and any animal that crossed her path. From dogs and cats to horses and birds, she cared for all creatures big and small with endless compassion.

She loved with her whole heart and made everyone around her feel special. Jana loved to laugh, to tell stories, and to make people smile. She gave her love freely, without conditions, and her warmth will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to have known her.

An intimate memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025. From 5:00-7:00 p.m. at 244 Willomere Drive, Kaysville. Utah. Family and friends are welcome to gather, share memories, and celebrate the beautiful life of Jana.
