IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances Nelson
Turville
June 22, 1933 – September 1, 2025
Frances LaVae Nelson Turville, born on June 22, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Thelma Mary Roe and Herman Christian Nelson, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at her home. She was surrounded by family after a brief illness.
Growing up in Salt Lake City, Frances graduated from East High School. Soon after, she met and married the love of her life, Gerald Clement Turville, who preceded her in death by three years. They celebrated 69 wonderful years of marriage together.
Known to their loved ones as "Judd and Frankie," they were the most fun to be with, finding great joy in spending time with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Frances will be remembered for her kind and loving heart, her positive encouragement, and her quick, unexpected wit. She sacrificed for her family, always putting them first.
Frances remembered every birthday and kept track of each new address as family members moved away. Through her thoughtful cards and heartfelt letters, she helped keep generations of family closely connected.
A dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church, Frances volunteered her time to many activities, including the scouting program with her two sons. Our family will miss her deeply, yet we rejoice in her reunion with her husband, Judd; her son, her grandson, and her parents and brother.
Frances is survived by her children, Troymarie Young (Richard) and John Turville (Rebecca); and her grandchildren, Ben, Rachelle, Glen, Nate, Austin, and Christian. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Benson, Bailey, Grant, McKay, Kimball, Hunter, Samantha, Brooklyn, Cossette, Haven, Johnny, Gabe, Kai, Sailor, Maxwell, Charli, Oliver, Natalie, Emilia, Winnie, Ames, and Tenna Marie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald C. Turville; her son, Todd Turville; and her grandson, Roman Young.
Funeral services will be held at the Mapleton Stake Center, 970 North 400 East, Mapleton, Utah, on Saturday, September 6, at 10:00 AM.
