Dane J. Austin, 64, passed away from Liver Cancer at home on February 6, 2025, in Millcreek, Utah. Born on January 6, 1961, in American Fork, Utah, Dane lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Dane spent his early years in American Fork with his parents, grandparents & two brothers Kelly & Shane, attending Harrington Elementary alongside his identical twin brother, Shane. The two continued their education at Forbes Elementary, American Fork Junior High, and later graduated from American Fork High School. From a young age, Dane demonstrated a strong work ethic and a natural ability to fix and build thingsskills that would define much of his career.
Throughout his life, Dane worked in various fields, always giving his best no matter the job. He and Shane worked together at Power Masters. Then he worked at Kurts Auto Wrecking. He also held numerous retail jobs, including building bikes at Walmart and working at Big Lots, where he met his beloved wife, Kimberly (Thomas) Austin. Dane later worked at doTERRA building displays with his nephew and even helped construct the Ferris wheel at Scheels. His final job was in HVAC, a role he particularly enjoyed because it allowed him to see projects through from start to finishbuilding large units in the warehouse before installing them.
Dane is survived by his loving wife and caretaker, Kimberly Austin, and their seven children: Holly (Jesse) Long of Lehi; Cole Austin of Orem; Lucas Austin of Lehi; D.J. Austin of Pleasant Grove; Chanc Austin of Pleasant Grove; Kayla Morgan of Millcreek; and Joshua Morgan of Millcreek. He was also blessed with 15 grandchildren: Oakley (Ethan), Brooklyn, Jace, Aiden, Lily, Raiden, Kaizley, Madison, Bryton, Xander, Connar, Airez, Asher, Bailey, and Makenna. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Kelly (Rosemary) Austin and Shane Austin; six nephews; two nieces; 11 great-nephews; and six great-nieces.
Dane was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Adella Austin; his sister Casey Austin; and his grandparents Joseph Eyre and Arvilla & Arthur Shelly. He was also reunited with countless other family members and friends who had gone before him.
Dane had many passions in life. He took immense pride in his gardenhis "baby"where he grew tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, strawberries, prize-winning pumpkins, and towering sunflowers. He loved working on cars and fixing things around the house. Classic cars were one of his greatest passions. He also enjoyed going to concerts with his kids, nephews, great-nephews, friendsand especially with one of his best friends/ nephew Brandon. Whether they were working on jobs together or just hanging out, Dane and Brandon shared countless adventures.
Above all else, Dane loved his family deeply. He loved his sons and was happy he had started reconnecting with them. He adored all the grandbabies and enjoyed taking them outside to play in the dirt and water. He loved bringing them treats and presents. He always made sure to take care of Kimberlyensuring she was okayand was known for being incredibly sweet to her.
Those who knew Dane will remember not only his intelligence and hardworking nature but also his unfiltered language or his constant bitching!
His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Kimberly for her unwavering care during Danes final months battling cancer. Special thanks also go to his daughters Holly and Kayla for their dedication in caring for their dad during this difficult time. He loved his girls. The family would also like to acknowledge Kina, the nurse who visited their home with kindness and compassion for him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 28th, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM at a park in Lehi, Utah. The exact location will be announced on social media as the date approaches.
Dane will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on through the love he shared with his family and friends. We love you forever and always to the moon and backuntil we meet again.
