Breya Laura "Rose" Swenson, age 34, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 23, 2025. Born on May 28, 1991, in Provo, Utah, to Gary and Mazie Johnson, Breya brought color, courage, and compassion into the lives of all who knew her.
Breya was a force of natureartistic, vivacious, and unafraid to speak her mind. Her blunt honesty was matched only by her deep empathy. She stood fiercely against injustice and bullying, always ready to defend those who couldnt defend themselves. Her creativity and passion left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She shared seven beautiful years of marriage with Ryan Jeffrey Swenson, whom she met through mutual friends. In true Breya fashion, she pursued Ryan until he pursued herand together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their souls were bound by a love so deep and unmatched, it echoes beyond this life.
Breya was deeply proud of her Native American heritage, which shaped her identity and values. She carried that legacy with grace, strength, and pride. She was also a fiercely loyal friendsomeone who stood by those she loved with unwavering support and fierce devotion.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gary LaVerne, and her grandparents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ryan; her mother, Mazie Johnson; her brothers, Beau and Jake; her sister, Chelsa Egbert (Ian); and her in-laws, Eric, Sharolyn, Luke, Anna, and John Swenson. She is also survived by her cherished nieces, Aurora and Gwen Egbert.
A viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 158 East 1100 South, Orem, Utah. All who knew and loved Breya are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
Breyas life was a testament to boldness, beauty, friendship, and boundless heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
